CollabNet Desktop 1.1 - New and Noteworthy

The emphasis on the 1.1 release has been compatibility with the Mylyn 2.0 GA release as well as polish and cleanup. Still, this release also brings an all-new plug-in for CollabNet CUBiT as well as additional support for openCollabNet.

A list of known issues has also been posted and will be actively maintained.

Mylyn Connectors

Support Mylyn 2.0 GA The connectors have been updated to support the Mylyn 2.0 GA release with support for Eclipse 3.2 and 3.3. See the Mylyn New and Noteworthy page for information on changes to Mylyn.

Performance improvements Across the board performance improvements in all aspects of Mylyn in general, and the CollabNet connectors specifically.

Issue History An option was added in both editors to access the history of the issue.

Project Tracker Connector

Add Artifacts Artifacts can now be added via an Eclipse rich editor. In previous release, browser interface was used.

Subversion integration Subversion commit messages in artifact comments are parsed and added to a special Subversion commits section of the artifact editor. This improves the UI by removing them from the comments and showing them in their own special location. Clicking on a commit integrates with ViewVC to provide details about the commits that happened for an artifact.

Subversion Commits

Improved Screen Layout Improvements were made in the layout of fields in the attributes section. Specifically, care was given to insure that long fields were always large enough to be readable.

Attribute Layout

Numerous Bug Fixes Many bug fixes and minor improvements were made based on user feedback.

Issue Tracker Connector (Issuezilla)

Status Whiteboard and Keywords Added The Status Whiteboard and Keyword fields were added. Keywords are selectable from a list of valid keywords. In addition, the blocks and depends on fields were also added to the editor. Finally, the Votes field was modified to allow votes to be added/removed.

Issuezilla Editor

Hyperlinking Support References to issues in comments are now converted to hyperlinks that open the issue in the rich editor. Likewise, issues that appear in the blocks/depends on fields are also hyperlinked.

IZ Hyperlinking

Subtask Support Mylyn has a feature called subtasks that allows you to see the relationship between tasks. With Issue Tracker, any issue that an issue blocks will appear as a subtask of that task in the UI. You can turn on this UI feature in the Task List view.

CollabNet CUBiT

Explore CUBiT Manager Host You can now add your CollabNet CUBiT Manager host to the CollabNet site view. This allows you to connect to the host and explore the projects and managed hosts that are available for your domain. The plug-in integrates with the CUBiT browser interface to manage and allocate hosts directly from Eclipse.

CUBiT

SSH Support - manage tunnels The CUBiT plug-in leverages the SSH client support included with Eclipse. This includes automated management of the tunnels needs to access CUBiT managed hosts. The plug-in automatically creates tunnels when a new terminal is opened, but can also open (and remember) as many tunnels as needed. For example, you might be testing a web application, and need to create a tunnel to port 80 on your managed host.

Managed Tunnels

SSH Support - built-in terminal The CUBiT plug-in includes a fully functional SSH Terminal from the Eclipse DSDP/TM project. This allows you to run an SSH Terminal from within the Eclipse environment. No other clients are needed.

SSH Terminal

External Client Support The CUBiT plug-in includes a fully functional SSH client and Terminal, but you can also use an existing external client if you prefer. When accessing a managed Windows host, the plug-in can launch an external Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client. The plug-in will automatically create the SSH tunnel for the RDP plug-in and provide it with the local port number to connect to.

External Clients

CollabNet Subversion

Subclipse 1.2.4 Subclipse 1.2.4 is now included. We have made a number of bug fixes and enhancements to Subclipse. See the changelog for a complete list of changes to Subclipse since the 1.2.2 release. This latest release also includes the latest version of Subversion - 1.4.5.

New Tutorials/Cheatsheets CollabNet Subversion content has been added to the Tutorials section of the Eclipse Intro/Welcome page. Use Help > Welcome to open this content and then select Tutorials.

openCollabNet Integration

Search view A new openCollabNet Search view has been created and added to the CollabNet perspective. Existing users should run Window > Reset Perspective to add the view to their perspective. This view makes it easy to search content on openCollabNet as well as providing quick access to the most commonly visited areas on the site.
